FAQ
What is Air Academy MTB?
Air Academy MTB is a mountain bike racing team affiliated with the Colorado High School League. We are also a mountain biking club that is open to racers as well as non-racers.
Who can ride with Air Academy MTB?
- Students at Air Academy High School can join the race team.
- Students at Eagleview Middle School can join the club team.
Do I have to have previous race experience?
No! Racing experience is not required. All skill levels are welcome. At practice, we divide into groups so that each rider is able to grow and progress their skills. Whether you are an experienced racer, or still building your skills and endurance, there is a group for you.
How often are practices?
Practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm.
How often are races?
There are 4 races per year, plus the State Championship race for those who qualify. See the league race schedule at https://coloradomtb.org/race-schedule/. Air Academy is in the Crystal Division.
How do I get started?
Attend the Season Kickoff Meeting (see the Events tab for details). If you have missed the kick off meeting, that’s ok! Just click the Contact link to message Coach Josh directly before registering.
Registration and Payment
For 2026 we have a new registration and payment system. Registration and payment will be handled online using Team App. Follow these steps to register. Note: registration must be completed by a parent if the rider is under age 18. A parent or legal guardian must sign the online waiver.
- New riders: please attend the kick off meeting before registering. See the Event Calendar for details.
- If you have missed the kick off meeting, that’s ok! Just click the Contact link to message Coach Josh directly before registering.
- Step 1: (Parent) Sign up for Team App: https://aahsmtbteam.teamapp.com/
- Click the “Join” button
- Recommended: Download and install Team App on your mobile device (Android or iOS) (You can use web interface if you prefer, but mobile app will allow you to get important push notifications for practice cancellations, etc).
- Registration can be performed from the mobile app or the website.
- From the app, click the menu bar, then click “Registrations”. From the website, click “Registrations” from the top menu bar. Remember: this step must be completed by a parent or guardian unless the athlete is at least 18 years old.
- Click “Rider Registration 2026”
- Under “Select Option”, choose “Student-Athlete Registration”. You may choose “Normal Price” or you may choose “with processing fees”. This is completely optional, if you would like to cover the team’s fees for processing the payment.
- Under “Register Member”, select the student-athlete. Make sure you do not select the parent! If your student-athlete does not yet have an account, or if the account does not show up in the drop-down list, choose “Add New Member” . This will prompt you to add your child’s information.
- Click Continue and fill out the registration form.
- Read the waiver (there is a link on the registration form). Type your name to accept the waiver. Type the student-athlete’s name to indicate your child’s acceptance of the waiver.
- Click “Submit Registration”
- Enter your payment details
